How do we calculate our carbon segregation?

We applied academic estimated standards found through research of specific native Amazona’s spices.

We only plant spices that are native to the area. The carbon capture numbers we advertise it therefore an estimate based on research.

We have by a 3rd partiy Insitute INIA, created a baseline for both trees and biodiversity, all our trees are virgin-trees and grown in our own or local nurseries. We plant on our own land which has been cleared from small bushes and shrubs, the plant material from the land clearing is made into Biochar which we use as fertilizer.

The agroforestry planting plan involved a wide variety of different timber tree, fruit tree, banana, cacao, spices, vegetables, and root fruits, to secure as much diversity in and above the soils as possible. The panting plan has been meticulously constructed by our local forest engineer, to give the plants the best chances to emerge into a symbiotic relationship with the local ecosystem.

All the trees are being geolocated and photographed when planted, we then monitor and collect data on the growth of the trees, this is done to verify the estimated Carbon capture values. We are fully transparent and constantly report on the development of the agroforestry plantation.

When this model is applied in a tropical environment like ours, the growth rates and crop yields are significantly better than in a more tempered climate. Studies done by one of our counterparts in the area “Reforesta Peru S.A.C” show growth rates 40% better than in Europe and North America.
