The Capirona Tree is native to the tropical lowlands of Peru. Extremely fast-growing, it has fully grown after just 8-10 years of growth. Scientifically the tree is known as Calycophyllum Spruceanum, and when cut is an attractive hardwood for flooring. When left alone, this magnificent tree grows up to 30m. Some shamans are said to invoke it’s spirit to promote calm and peace within the ceremonial space during an ayahuasca retreat.

The Capirona tree (Calycophyllum spruceanum) is a tree that grows in the Amazon rainforest and belongs to the Gardenia family (Rubiaceae) 1. The tree can grow up to 30 meters tall and has a very smooth, glossy green bark 1. The tree produces white, aromatic flowers in summer, followed by elongated seed capsules with 3-5 seeds inside 1. The bark is replaced periodically to avoid lichens, fungi, epiphytes and lianas. Once or twice a year, it changes all its bark 1. The wood of the tree is used for parquet 1. Dried bark is used to treat fungus on the skin, as antidiabetic and for eye infections .

Your purchase of Capirona wood has a positive impact on your carbon footprint of approx. 2200 kg.  This corresponds to approx. 10 single flight CPH to Milan. (Curb6)
